What is Pupil Premium Funding?
The Pupil Premium is government money designed to help disadvantaged children and young people to achieve. The Funding is allocated to schools for children from Reception to Year 11 who have registered for Free School Meals in the last six years, are in care or have parents in the Armed Forces.
The amount we receive per child is as follows:
- 2012/13: £623
- 2013/14: £953
- 2014/15: £1300
- 2015/16 to 2019/20: £1320
- 2020/21 to 2021/22: £1345
- 2022/23: £1385
- 2023/24: £1455
- 2024/25: £1480
- 2025/26: £1515
- 2026/27: £1550

How is the money spent?
We look at where more support or provision is needed in the school to raise standards for all children. If children are falling behind or need more help to achieve higher levels then we put in place small groups or one to one teaching programmes; we call these ‘intervention programmes’. We choose teaching approaches and intervention programmes that are supported by research including the Sutton Trust Education Research documents. We can also spend the money on training for staff to make sure they are up to date with the latest information about teaching strategies that work best for all pupils.
How much parents and carers get involved with their child’s learning makes a big difference to how well a child will achieve at school. So we can also spend the money on a range of support activities that involve parents and carers coming into school to take part in workshops, courses, programmes and meetings. These are all designed to help parents and carers learn how to best support your child.
How will the parent/carer know it is working?
We track each child’s achievements and progress every term, so we can quickly see if our interventions and support programmes are working effectively.
If your child takes part in an intervention programme, we will measure how they are doing at the start of the programme, and when the programme is completed. This will enable us to measure the progress made.
We will report to you at Parent’s Evenings, held in November (Term 2) and March (Term 4) and at the end of year in your child’s academic year report. There are also Celebration of Learning Events in Term 3 and Term 5 where you will be able to look at your child’s workbooks. If you would like information on your child’s progress at any time during the school year, please contact the class teacher.

Please find attached our Pupil Premium Grant 2026-2027 and our School Pupil Premium Strategy statement 2023-2026. Published December 2025.
The school will update and report to governors each Term.
I am not sure if my child could have Free School Meals- Where can I get more information from?
